Firefighters Calvados intervened for a house fire in Verson, near Caen (Calvados), Thursday 1st March. No one was injured, both occupants had to be relocated
Shortly before 10 pm, Thursday, March 1, 2018, Calvados firefighters were called for a fire at a house located rue du General Leclerc, the main street of Verson , near Caen (Calvados).
“We had a power outage and went out to see if it was a general break, but no. It was then that we saw that it was glowing in the attic, flames appeared. In 10-15 minutes, the roof was completely on fire, it was impressive, says the owner of the house.”
No casualties to lament
The roof was completely burned when help arrived. They fought until two in the morning to extinguish the disaster with three fire trucks. The action of the helpers made it possible to avoid the spread of fire to the two adjoining houses. Fortunately, no casualties are to be deplored.
“Firefighters have tried to water as little as possible to damage as little as possible, it’s really good. It is now necessary to bring an expert as quickly as possible to know the state of the floors and the house.”
“We lost memories”
The owners of the house have been relocated to the family.
“We have been here for more than 20 years. We have lost memories, but the main thing is that there is no victim. We think we could have been in our bed sleeping … but we’re alive, that’s the main thing.”
