The number of injury by road accidents has increased sharply between November 2016 and 2017, in several departments of Normandy, like the national trend.

Killed, wounded and crashes down in Eure
In Normandy, one department displays all meters down. In the Eure , two people were indeed killed on the roads in November. The record was six killed in November 2016. The number of injured dropped by 21% and that of accidents by 18%.
Since the beginning of 2017, 32 people were killed on the roads euroised, against 38 in 2016 over the same period. At the end of 2016, the final count was 43 dead.
Manche and Orne: many deaths, more accidents
On the roads of the Manche, two people died in November 2017. These two deaths bring the total since the beginning of 2017, 30 killed. Two fewer than the same period in 2016. However, the number of accidents and injuries is increasing – 18% for the first, 7.9% for the second.
As for the English Channel, there were two deaths in the Orne in November 2017. The balance of the accident rate to the 3rd December reported 27 people killed since the start of the year. That’s one more than in 2016. The last death occurred in Bagnoles de l’Orne , as of the 1st December. Other statistics are larger increase than in the Channel: 36% of injuries in addition, 27% more accidents.
Calvados “awaiting consolidation”
In Calvados , the prefecture has yet to release its figures. She explains by “waiting for data consolidation.” Stopped at the 1st December figures may indeed evolve, “if a person dies within days.” To be sure to report reliable figures, the prefecture will give a deadline, “otherwise it’s temporary.”
In late October 2017, eight people were killed, five against the previous year in the department. There also were 67 wounded, two more than at the same period.

In Seine-Maritime department alone up

The first affected are motorists, with 23 deaths. Mainly, the victims are male (39 killed against 11 killed) aged between 25 and 44 years (19 deaths out of 50) or over 65 (14 deaths)
