A man of 66 years died at his home in Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans, near Ceret, in the Pyrenees Orientales, to the Spanish border. Violently bitten several times by his two dogs, he could not be resuscitated by firefighters.

His wife (unscathed), with whom he was having dinner, which gave the alert. During the intervention, a volunteer firefighter was also bitten and brought to the emergency clinic of Vallespir.

Dogs kennel placed temporarily

Both breeds, Border Collie, generally used by the shepherds to guard the flocks, were temporarily taken to a kennel. They will undergo a behavioral assessment by a veterinarian who will decide if the animals will be euthanized .
