After an investigation lasting several months, an active prostitution ring in Mayenne, Sarthe and Ille-et-Vilaine was unearthed. A dozen people were arrested in late November. € 18,000 were also seized.
The beginning of the case dates back to 2015. During an inspection, gendarmes of the Mayenne find an offense related to a valid default title for maintaining the national territory. Their investigations allow highlight of aid made to illegally staying of third-person. A preliminary investigation is then conducted by the services of the gendarmerie and officials from the police de l’air et des frontières (Paf) in Rennes. It allows to reveal facts of procuring, illegal employment, benefits and fraud of unauthorized residence, involving more than fifteen persons.
In March 2016, a criminal investigation is opened by a Laval magistrate and inquiry is entrusted to the gendarmerie and the Paf in Rennes. Multiple monitors, informers and wiretapping can confirms it all. At the end of this investigation of several months, a police operation was launched on the 21st November. Twenty-one soldiers from the Laval gendarmerie group and nine officials from the Paf at Rennes are mobilized. Thirteen people were arrested in the Mayenne, Sarthe and Ille-et-Vilaine.
The raids uncovered € 18,000 in cash at the homes of prostitutes. The vans where they were practicing prostitution activities were also seized.
For years, acts of prostitution are growing on the roads of the department of Mayenne. This, very lucrative operation, essentially involves prostitutes from Cameroon.
