This Friday morning, the gendarmes of Ille-et-Vilaine have identified more than a dozen accidents related to ice and fog that has struck the region during the night. It is primarily smaller accidents with cars skidding on the icy roads, luckily without any injuries being reported.
Sectors of Vitre, Liffré, Melesse or the Chapelle-Bouëxic are particularly affected by the ice storm but also many other routes in Ille-et-Vilaine.
The road services department are already on the road, salting the main roads as well as trying to cover some of the primary routes as well. Council workers are also covering the pavements in the towns. The Gendarmes and firefighters are calling for caution on the roads.
