For the weekend of the Ascension, motorized gendarmerie units of the Orne department conducted numerous inspections.
The Weekend of the Ascension, was very busy on the roads for the extended weekend and with the extra traffic from the motorcycle Grand Prix at Le Mans, these are the two good reasons for the police to ensure visibility on the roads and amplify the controls.
With a record of 115 motorists caught speeding, including 29 by motorcycles. Fifteen drivers were stripped of their driving licenses. Among the most notable crimes, a motorist travelling on the RD 958 to Nécy, halfway between Falaise – Argentan, was intercepted on Saturday at the recorded speed of 157 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. A biker on the RD 923 to Mâle was also stopped doing 154 km/h, in a 90 km/h area, with an alcohol rate of 0.38 grams per litre.
Also on Saturday, another motorist was caught speeding at 156 km/h instead of 90 km/h on the RD 909 in La Fresnaye-au-Sauvage. In Chailloué, another was intercepted Sunday on the RD 438, while driving at 142 km/h, again in an area of 90 km/h allowed.
