A man was seriously injured on the night of Friday to Saturday, falling from the statue in the Place de la Republique in Paris. The man might be of been part of the “NuitDebout”, we have learned from the police headquarters.
Three metre fall
The man, aged forty years according to fire fighters, dropped from a height of three metres. He was taken to hospital “in an absolute emergency”, the police headquarters stating that he suffered a head injury.
Police and fire fighters were not able to specify if the wounded man was involved in the “nuitdebout” occupy movement that has been in Place de la Republique since the 31st March with hundreds and thousands of participants each night.
Call for caution
He was however “physically close” noted the police department, who wished to launch a “message of prevention and prudence” to avoid such accidents.
