The strike in Nantes at la Poste continues, causing some delays with letters

Seventh-day strike at the post office Nantes Rollin, in the city centre. “45% of postal workers stopped work on Tuesday,” said Sud PTT.

According to management, only 35% of postal workers and not the 45% that the union claim, were on strike, although they confirm that there are some disruptions in the mail delivery for individuals but not for business. “Dozens of letters are not distributed every day because management refuses to open genuine negotiations. The strikers complained that their leadership prefers to use  temporary and nominating officials to break the strike ” , says the union.

At the root of this conflict, the proposed removal of fifteen jobs from the eighty that are currently employed, and the reduction of the number of postal rounds.  Management speaks today of just ten positions being lost. The strikers voted to continue the strike on Wednesday. At Orvault also agents of the industrial platform of the Post Office will continue the strike today, the appeal of South and CGT.  Job cuts and changing schedules do not pass. A hundred employees rallied yesterday.
