He could not have escaped them. On December 24th, while the gendarmes of the motorized brigade of Aix  patrolling on the roads of the department of Bouches-du-Rhône, they saw, on the road to  Eguilles, a Peugeot 306 travelling at high speed.

So fast, reports La Provence on Tuesday that the driver was not far from losing control of his vehicle on a roundabout. The police, on their bikes, then set off in pursuit of the vehicle, which was still accelerating.

160 km/h on a road 90 km/h

On this small road, where speed is however limited to 90 km/h, the car actually peaks at 160 km/h, crossing solid white lines, drives on the opposite side of the road … before loosing control, followed by a spin, to finally get to finish his run in the ditch.

Once handcuffed, the fugitive who is in his thirties and originally from Manosque allegedly admitted being afraid of losing his license, knowing that he had consumed alcohol, in addition to not having insurance for the vehicle.

This father spent Christmas in custody and was summoned by a police officer, to go and explain to the criminal court.
