The wind blows hard on Thursday afternoon on a large northern part of France. Meteo France has placed 49 yellow alert and in which departments (level 2 on a scale of 4) the strong wind which Charente-Maritime, reports Le Parisien.
The coast of Finistère, Côtes d’Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine, the Channel, the Somme and the Pas-de-Calais is also placed in yellow vigilance with the risk of submersives waves, the newspaper said.
The wind is expected to strengthen in the night from Thursday to Friday. Inland, gusts may exceed 80 km/h. After a brief lull in the night from Friday to Saturday and during part of the day Saturday, the wind should come back strong in the evening. Gusts of over 110 km/h are expected, especially in the area of La Rochelle in Charente-Maritime.
