The orange alert for thunderstorms and rain was lifted this Thursday morning for the last three departments which were still involved in the Southeast, according to Meteo France.
The Orange warning has been lifted for the last three departments of Var, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes from 6am this morning by Meteo France.
On Tuesday, up 19 departments were placed on orange alert by Meteo France, with a warning of thunderstorms, rain and local flooding. Since Tuesday, there has been about 70,000 lightning strikes across these departments.
This extreme weather knocked out power to 120,000 homes. Approximately 14,500 were still immersed in the dark last night and Enedis (ex ERDF) have said that power to all the homes affected should be returned to normal by Thursday morning.
