Since late January, the company Chalair offers a flight between Rennes and Montpellier, via Bordeaux. Thereby arriving in the occitane capital in less than three hours.
Since late January, the airline Chalair launched a new flight between Montpellier and Bordeaux, with two daily rotations (only on Friday). Now for passengers this now extends to Rennes.
Flight time of under 3 Hours
The plane makes a twenty minute break in Bordeaux-Merignac airport, before taking off again, this time towards Brittany. Overall, the trip between Montpellier and Rennes is just 2 hours and 45 minutes, against almost seven hours by train and ten hours by car. Perfect for men and women on business in a hurry.
Aircraft seats 19
The flight was aboard a Beechcraft aircraft with 19 seats. With its jet-like, it looks more like a private jet than a commercial airliner. On board, the first officer also acts as steward.
The company, probably not the best known to the general public, has operated for ten years from Rennes Airport. Twice a day she makes a round trip to Bordeaux with this type of aircraft. In eight years, Chalair carried more than 70,000 passengers on this line, become historic.
low traffic lines
The small French company, based in Caen-Carpiquet, has made a place in the shadow of the majors regional transport (Hop, Air France) and low-costs turbulent (Ryanair, Flybe, Vueling, Volotea). And it continues to innovate in its niche market. “We come with an offer to meet the demand, our small aircraft are suitable for low traffic lines,” says Alain Battisti, the boss of the company.
