Meteo France announces orange alert for storms in the South-West.

Six departments are placed on orange alert for thunderstorms, Sunday, 12th August, in the afternoon. These storms will also be accompanied by strong gusts of wind, even hail.

There will be a storm in the air. If the Southwest wakes up, Sunday 12th August, 2018, in the sun, the weather is likely to spoil in the late afternoon.

Six departments concerned

Météo France places six departments in orange vigilance for thunderstorms from 4 pm. These are Haute-GaronneGersLot-et-GaronnePyrénées-AtlantiquesHautes-Pyrénées and Tarn-et-Garonne .

Gusts of wind and hail

Thunderstorms should be accompanied by strong wind gusts of the order of 80 to 100 km/h. In some places, in the Hautes-PyrénéesGers and Lot-et-Garonne, hail falls are also to be feared.



The bordering departments in yellow vigilance (especially the Landes and the Lot ) could also be affected locally by thunderstorms.
