Seven departments of the West are in orange alert this Monday morning, either for storms or for floods.
Six departments of western France were placed this Monday morning in orange vigilance for storms , said Météo France in its latest bulletin. The six departments concerned are Côtes-d’Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine, Mayenne, Morbihan, Orne and Sarthe.
In addition, vigilance orange alert for floods triggered this Sunday 3rd June in the department of Finistere is maintained for this Monday.
The beginning of orange alert is scheduled for 10 am until midnight on morning Tuesday.
“The rains will intensify in central Brittany by taking before mid-day a stormy character. Punctually active storm cells with intense rainfall over short periods of time are again to be considered, “ says Météo France.
“In the middle of the afternoon, the stormy activity will spread towards Maine and Orne; in addition to locally intense rains, the most violent storms may be accompanied by hail and sudden gusts (up to 80 km / h). Punctually rainfall accumulations will reach on the episode 50 to 60 mm is the equivalent of a month of rains.
