Paris public transport will be disrupted Thursday 19 and Friday 20 April following the call to strike CGT-RATP
The CGT-RATP has filed a strike notice from Wednesday 18th April, 2018 at 10pm to Saturday 21st April, 2018 at 7am. “We call on all RATP agents to mobilise on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th April 2018 and to gather on Thursday 19th April at RATP headquarters from 10.30 am and to participate in the regional event to be organised in Paris from 2 pm in front of Montparnasse station, “the union said in a statement.
“The need to act at the RATP is increasing, in view of all the bad moves and future projects that we have suffered and that we will suffer without the intervention of employees in the context of the balance of forces, explains the CGT- RATP.Such are the so-called “social” issues to the company, such as the regression of rights “sick children”, the increase of the CSG, wage freeze, job cuts, the deterioration of working conditions …”
Public service defense
Trade unionists also provide support to railway workers : At the national level, a debate is also opening on the question of public services and their future, particularly that assumed by SNCF and questioned by the” Spinetta “report which advocates, in particular, the abolition of so-called “unprofitable” lines thus attacking the very spirit of what is a public service and also the abolition of the status of SNCF employees … All these questions, both those to the RATP that those which today affect the SNCF but will inevitably and indisputably have impacts for the RATP, calls for the mobilisation of the agents on the double question of the defense of the public service and the conditions of its realisation ( Status, remuneration, social provisions, staffing …). ”
The UNSA says it also filed notice for Thursday 19th April, without formally calling the strike, but simply to allow agents who wish to participate in the demonstration of April 19th, reports the Parisian .
