According to a survey, the city of Rennes ranks sixth city in Europe where people are happiest to go to work, and the first city in France.
After having been classified in February 2018 by the Express first city of France where life is good, Rennes continues to attract attention. In a survey conducted by Eurostat and published by Le Figaro , the Breton capital is the sixth largest city in Europe where people are happiest to go to work . This is the first city in France .
78% satisfaction rate
The survey carried out in 2015 by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union , looked at how Europeans perceive their work. To the question “overall, are you very satisfied, rather satisfied, not very satisfied or not satisfied with your professional situation”, the city of Rennes has achieved a satisfaction rate of 78%.

“Particularly high scores for French cities”
Eurostat notes that among the 83 cities and urban centers in which workers were surveyed, “French cities score particularly high” on this issue.
In the top of the ranking, we find:
- Graz (Austria), 85%
- Zurich (Switzerland), 83%
- Reykjavík (Iceland), 79%
- Vienna (Austria), 79%
- Copenhagen (Denmark), 78%
- Rennes (France), 78%
After Rennes, we find as French cities Paris in 8th place (77%), Bordeaux 12th (76%) or Strasbourg 14th (76%). Lille gets 71% satisfaction and Marseille 70%.
