Due to a strike by dockers in Saint-Malo, the shipping company Condor Ferries canceled its crossings to Jersey, Guernsey and Poole until Sunday, December 3rd 2017. Brittany Ferries also canceled its St. Malo crossings / Portsmouth.
Maritime traffic is interrupted to Jersey from Friday, December 1 afternoon due to a dock strike in the port of Saint-Malo. The reason? The ongoing negotiations on wages and working conditions. The port activity will remain blocked until Sunday 3rd December.
Condor Ferries was forced to cancel its rotations to the island of Jersey, this weekend. A boat was to start in Saint-Malo, this Saturday morning at 7am. “We managed to prevent customers from Friday night” assures Frederick Wakefield, CEO of Morvan son travel, which manages Condor Ferries.
The boat was full Saturday morning, promotional offers special shopping days have started. 740 passengers could not go to sea.
The starting Jersey at 8:05 was also canceled and the departure from Saint-Malo to Jersey at 17:50.
This Saturday afternoon, employees of the company are working to prevent customers who had booked for Sunday, December 3. The traffic was also interrupted tomorrow.
“We will take a decision tomorrow, Sunday sailings scheduled for Monday,” fully responsible for Condor Ferries.
