“The Chancellor is delighted to receive late Monday afternoon at the chancellery the new French President Emmanuel Macron”, said on Friday the spokesman for Merkel, Steffen Seibert told a regular press briefing.
The two leaders should first have an interview, and then hold a joint press conference before an official dinner.
M. Seibert provided no details on the topics to be discussed, while Merkel and Macron include highly anticipated on issues related to the reform of the European Union.

“A desire for joint work”
