Tim Curry, Clown from It and Star of the Cult Film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has Died at 80

Tim Curry died at his home, he had suffered from serious health problems for more than ten years.

English actor Tim Curry, famous for his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, died at the age of 80, the American media announced this Wednesday 26th August 2026.

Tim Curry, who suffered from health problems for more than a decade after a serious stroke that left him severely disabled, died at his home in Los Angeles, according to celebrity media outlet TMZ, citing anonymous sources.

The actor, who began his career in London theaters, played Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a self-proclaimed alien mad scientist “transvestite from Transylvania”, on stage and then in the 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which has become a classic and still shown in cinemas more than 50 years after its release.

This crazy creation tells the story of Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon) and Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick), a young couple just engaged, who after a car breakdown arrive on a stormy night in a castle populated by strange creatures.
