Cigarettes and Rolling Tobacco: Here are the New Prices Expected on 1st February

After an increase in the price of tobacco on 1st January 2026, the portal of the General Directorate of Customs published a decree setting the new prices of cigarettes in February.
A further increase in the price of cigarettes, hand-rolling tobacco and other cigarillos. French Customs has just revealed all the new prices as of February 1, 2026.
They published data from the “decree of January 5, 2025 approving the retail sales prices of tobacco manufactured in France, excluding the overseas departments”.
Prices from February 2026
Increases of between +20 and +30 cents for packs of British American Tobacco cigarettes are expected. This includes packages of Dunhill Silver, Dunhill Blue, Craven A Red, Lucky Strike X Series Clear, Lucky Strike X Series…
News&Co and Gauloises will experience a price increase of 40 cents.
The Winston range will see a drop of 10 cents and there will be no price change for the Philip Morris.
For several years, tobacco consumption has been declining. In May 2025, the French Observatory of Drugs and Addictive Trends (OFDT) noted a “continuous decrease” in smoking in France, with -7% on average between 2017 and 2024.
But “tobacco remains the leading cause of preventable mortality in France, with around 75,000 deaths per year, including 46,000 from cancer”, according to the National Cancer Institute.
