Weather: Ardèche, Loire and Rhône placed on Orange Alert for Rain and Floods on Saturday

WEATHER: Three departments have been placed on orange alert for rain and flood risks until Saturday noon
Precipitation is already very intense in the Cévennes. Météo-france placed the departments of Ardèche, Loire and Rhône on orange alert for rains and the risk of flooding until Saturday noon.
This episode is “not exceptional for the season” but requires monitoring due to “high rain intensities”, according to Météo-France which initiated orange vigilance at midnight in the three departments concerned.
The episode will move towards the Rhône valley, the Alpine massif and the PACA region
“Over the last six hours, heavy rains have mainly affected the Ardèche mountains, with 50 to 80 mm most often, up to 100 to 120 mm in the Cévennes area”, specifies the forecaster in his latest bulletin published at 6 o’clock.
“The rainstorm episode is expected to continue all day on Saturday, shifting towards the Rhône valley, the Alpine massif, and the PACA region”, it is added.
“In particular, very rainy storms because they are not very mobile could affect the middle Rhône valley and go up to the northwest of the department of Isère via the north of Drôme”, specifies the organization.
