United Kingdom: Prince Andrew, Embroiled in Scandals, Renounces his Royal Title

SCANDALS: Prince Andrew announced Friday evening that he was renouncing his royal title following scandals linked to his relations with Jeffrey Epstein

Prince Andrew, entangled in scandals, mainly that of his relations with the American sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein, announced Friday evening that he was renouncing his royal title. But he “categorically denied” the accusations against him.

“After discussing with the king (Charles III, her older brother) and my family, we concluded that the continued accusations against me were detrimental to the work of Her Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to give priority to my duty towards my family and my country”, he said in a press release.

An explosive book next week

“I will no longer use my title or the honors conferred on it”, continues the prince. He had already retired from public life in the United Kingdom five years ago under the pressure of scandal. Andrew had already been stripped of his military titles since 2022, “resigned” from his charities and banned from the royal agenda, recalls Point of view. Nor could he make use of the honorary predicate of HRH (His Royal Highness) attached to his name.

Next week the book “Nobody’s girl” is due out. This is a posthumous biography of Virginia Giuffre, in which she is said to make serious accusations against the prince and Jeffrey Epstein when she was 17. She committed suicide on April 25 at the age of 41.
