Do Car Interiors Contain Too Many Screens?

EYE FATIGUE: The proliferation of screens leads to overdoses in certain car interiors. Other brands have chosen minimalism

Look at the new one Porsche Electric cayenne: combined OLED curved, 14.25-inch central screen, augmented reality head-up display… and even a 14.9-inch passenger screen. Add one AI voice, shareable digital keys and “room modes” that control lighting, air conditioning and seats. Impressive, but is it really necessary, or just a festival of pixels to impress?

The opposite, Dacia announces a radical bet with its future Hipster 2027: zero screen. Only the driver’s phone will make the connection with the car. Minimalist, functional and refreshing, this choice reminds us that a cabin can be practical without being saturated with pixels.

Innovation or technology overdose?

Screens take over everything from entry-level vehicles to SUV high end. Of course, they provide comfort and personalization, but too many screens standardize interiors and erase the character of cars. Like the digital watches of the 1970s, what seems futuristic today can quickly age.

Some brands continue to rely on physical controls for ease of use and timeless style. Should we follow the high-tech trend or return to simplicity, as the future Dacia Hipster offers? The debate remains open!
