No, Noz Stores are Not Bankrupt and are Not Going to Close their Doors

No, Noz stores are not bankrupt and do not plan to close their doors as some of our colleagues are currently indicating in their columns. On the contrary, the brand continues to strengthen its position on the clearance market in France and remains the leader in France with 550 M€ turnover in 2023.

History and concept of Noz

Founded in 1976 in Laval under the name “Le Soldeur” by Rémy Adrion, Noz has established itself as a reference in the clearance sector. The brand buys lots from overstocks, unsold items or liquidations to offer them at attractive prices. This strategy makes it possible to fight against waste while offering consumers a variety of products at advantageous prices.

Expansion and national presence

Over the years, Noz has seen notable growth. The brand now has more than 300 stores spread across France, employing nearly 6,000 people. This expansion demonstrates the solidity of its economic model and its ability to adapt to market developments. Building on this success, Noz does not intend to stop there. The brand plans to open around 20 new stores per year, with the ambition of reaching 500 points of sale within ten years. This strategy aims in particular to strengthen its presence in the south-east of France, a region with high potential for destockers.

Noz has been able to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the liquidations of large brands to enrich its offering. In November 2022, during the judicial liquidation of Camaïeu, Noz acquired 1.5 million ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, thus strengthening its range of textile products.

Likewise, at the beginning of 2023, the brand recovered stocks from the British platform Made.com, specializing in the sale of furniture, thus adding trendy decorative items and designer furniture pieces to its catalog.

Adaptation to challenges

In September 2022, Noz closed around twenty stores in France, citing supply difficulties and increased competition. However, these one-off adjustments have not affected the overall financial health of the company.Proof of its resilience, Noz reopened some of its stores after periods of closure, such as that of Saint-Quentin on 4th March 2025, demonstrating its ability to bounce back in the face of challenges.

Despite occasional closures linked to strategic adjustments, Noz is not bankrupt and continues to grow. Its model based on clearance and the fight against waste appeals to customers keen to achieve good deals, thus ensuring the brand a place of choice in the French commercial landscape.

Commitment to the circular economy and social responsibility

Beyond its economic growth, Noz is actively engaged in a circular economy approach.By offering a second life to unsold items and fighting against waste, the brand contributes to more responsible consumption.Furthermore, Noz supports social actions, particularly in partnership with Secours Populaire, and promotes professional equality, with 70% women in its workforce
