ChatGPT fascinates even the Minister of Economy. And if we are to believe Bruno Le Maire, the artificial intelligence created by OpenAI could even write political speeches. “I tested, it’s quite fascinating, he explained. I was a speechwriter, I wrote speeches by Dominique de Villepin and Jacques Chirac for years. And so, I tested, I watched: give me a speech on Xi Jinping’s China in 2023 and I had a pretty clever, well-structured speech in exactly five minutes, where twenty years ago it would have taken me three or four hours to make this speech”. And to conclude on the importance of reflecting on the ethics of these technologies. “I think we have to supervise,” he insisted.
A potential competitor to Google
ChatGPT appeared in November and was quickly taken over by users impressed with its ability to clearly answer difficult questions, write sonnets or write computer code.
