A failed component causes a startup failure on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Apple is asking users to check if their device can be repaired by its services.
Does your iPhone 6s or 6s Plus no longer light up? This is normal, it is probably a victim of technical failure. Do not panic: since October 4th, 2019, the Apple brand has been offering a free repair program.
On its website, the Apple brand confirms that “it is possible that some iPhone 6s and 6s Plus do not come on because of a component that may be faulty.”

Check if your smartphone is concerned
The mark states that this problem affects “only devices within a limited range of serial numbers manufactured between October 2018 and August 2019”.
No other model is affected by this defect and therefore by the free repair program. Users who think they are affected by this issue can visit this Apple Support page to see if they are eligible.
The serial number of the device is indicated in the Settings menu. If the notebook is off, it is available on the original packaging or purchase invoice.

How to fix it?
In case your iPhone is one of the failing models, the repair process can start. For that, it is necessary:
- Find an Apple Authorized Service Center , located throughout France.
- Make an appointment at an Apple Store .
- Contact Apple Support to arrange for a repair, including shipping, via the Apple Repair Center.
The American brand advocates backing up all data via iTunes or the Cloud. Apple says that if other damage compromises the repair, “like a cracked screen,” it must first be repaired. Otherwise, additional repairs will be charged.

Apple states that this repair program is valid for two years from the first retail sale of the product.
