Companies of the autoroutes (toll roads) are committed to offering 30% discounts on subscriptions for motorists who make at least 10 round trips per month. Details.
A first answer to yellow vests. Motorists who regularly use the autoroutes will benefit from a lower toll rates , announced the Minister of Transport , Elisabeth Borne, Thursday 17th January.
According to her, motorway companies have just promised to offer 30% discounts for motorists making at least ten round trips per month.

The preferential tariffs agreed upon by the motorway companies will apply to all private users who use a route between two specific points, without distance limitation, and will be reserved for drivers of passenger cars and motorbikes.
“These subscriptions will be used in addition to the existing local subscription formulas for peri-urban commuting. Motorists already benefiting from local subscriptions at preferential rates will be free to keep them or subscribe to new offers. The price of the subscription can not exceed 2.50 euros per month.”
“The details of the new offers will be available by the end of the month on the respective websites of motorway companies,” the statement said.
Subscriptions available from February 1st
These new subscriptions will be available on the entire toll motorway network from 1 February 2019, when toll rates will normally increase by almost 2% . They could interest more than one million people, said the minister.
Three concrete cases
- A motorist making 10 trips a month between Saint-Omer and Liévin / Lens (A26) had to pay 84 euros per month of tolls in 2018: in 2019, thanks to this measure, he will have to pay only 60, 20 euros, a saving of 23.80 euros per month compared to 2018. If it makes 20 trips / returns per month, this represents a saving of 47.60 euros.
- A motorist making 10 trips a month between Pont-d’Ain and Beynost (A42) had to pay 84 euros per month of tolls in 2018: in 2019, thanks to this measure, he will have to pay only 60, 20 euros, a saving of 23.80 euros per month compared to 2018. If it makes 20 trips / returns per month, this represents a saving of 47.60 euros.
- A motorist making 10 trips a month between Nîmes and Montpellier (A9) had to pay 60 euros per month of tolls in 2018: in 2019, thanks to this measure, he will have to pay only 43.40 euros, or a savings of 16.60 euros per month compared to 2018. If it makes 20 trips / returns per month, this represents a saving of 33.20 euros.
