On the occasion of the French Days, a spring Black Friday, more than 80 big brands in France are planning monster promotions from Friday 27th April to May 1st.
Several major French brands and e-commerce sites have agreed to launch a commercial promos operation similar to American Black Friday: the French Days. It will take place from the 27th April to the 1st May 2018 .
La Redoute, Fnac, Darty, Boulanger, Cdiscount, RueDuCommerce and Showroomprivé are the first to participate. They also call other distributors to participate to create a national operation. Meanwhile, many other companies have decided to join the movement. The goal: to provoke the same madness as in the United States.
Important discounts to plan
“Everyone is free to implement the promotions they want,” said Emmanuel Grenier, CEO of Cdiscount , Europe 1 . According to him, the offers will concern in the first place, given the beautiful days and sports competitions, “garden furniture, all the outdoors, fashion and television”.
The discounts should reach 50%, probably more on certain product lines: home appliances, high-tech, furniture, deco, the outdoors, fashion, leisure.
Fnac announces “many good plans in computing, TV, telephony, video games or photo”.
RueduCommerce for example promises offers on PCs, TVs, smartphones, home and garden equipment, but also on luggage and fashion.
A true tradition in the United States
Every year, millions of Americans flock to stores the day after Thanksgiving in November to try to make purchases with monster sales.
In France, consumers are content for the moment with winter and summer sales or promotions regularly organized throughout the year.
For the last French edition, traders participating in Black Friday have doubled their turnover compared to the same Friday of 2016.
