An 85-year-old man was found dead following the fire at his apartment in Rocquencourt. An investigation has been opened.
A resident of Rocquencourt , aged 85 , died in the fire of his apartment, Monday 26th February, around 5.20pm.
The fire broke out in the apartment on the top floor of a two-storey building, square des Marronniers. He was alone there.
The firefighters found him in cardiac arrest, in his chair, a cigarette in his hand.
The doctor present on site did not succeed in bringing him back to life. His death was recorded at 6.45pm.
His body was taken to Garches Hospital for an autopsy.
An investigation was opened to determine the causes of the incident.
