Woman dies at Isère due to flooding caused by Eleanor Storm

On Thursday, a woman aged 93 years died at his home in Crêts en Belledonne (Isere), following torrential rains that fell in the wake of the Eleanor storm.

This is the second person killed in France by Eleanor storm. This Thursday, January 4 in the morning, a woman of 93 years died drowned  in his house in the municipality of Crêts en Belledonne (Isere) , which had been flooded by the waves, said the firefighters, confirming a report the regional newspaper  Le Dauphiné Libéré .

Torrential rains have battered the department due to Eleanor storm. They caused the flooding of a nearby stream that invaded the house. Upon arrival, the emergency could not revive the old lady who was in cardiac arrest.

Isère orange flood alert




Isère was placed on orange alert by Météo France due to a risk of flooding linked to heavy rains caused by the storm Eleanor. The valley Grésivaudan between Grenoble and Chambery, is particularly affected, as the village of La Pierre, flooded three-quarters from the mayor of the town.
