Five departments of western France were placed on orange alert for strong winds, announced Meteo France this Saturday morning.
Côtes d’Armor, Finistère, Ille-et-Vilaine, La Manche and Morbihan are affected by this alert orange which begins Saturday at 9pm and will last until 10am on Sunday.
According to Meteo France, it is “a common storm in the autumn period occurring three to four times a year ” .
“The winds will begin at Finistère in early evening to extend to the UK and the Manche department in the second half of night from Saturday to Sunday. South gusts and south west will reach 100 to 110 km/h locally 120 km/h near the coast, and 90 to 100 km/h on land. An extension of the risk of strong winds in Normandy is to consider “, according to forecasters.
Météo France announces however the lifting of the orange alert for floods, rains on the Pas-de-Calais .
