The council meeting of Rennes has been cancelled by the Mayor of Rennes. A Students protest, positioned in the middle of the room, refused to leave the room as the mayor, Nathalie Appéré, suggested that they meet tomorrow morning. They refused. Some elected council members then left their seats and the council was initially suspended. It has just been cancelled. The council meeting began at 5pm with several discussions tabled to discuss the violent demonstrations that took place in the city centre.
