Swimming Championships France: Florent Manaudou Smashes 50 metres

And the best performance of the year in the process …

After the disappointment last Friday, when Florent Manaudou ended up finishing third in the 100 metres final of the French swimming championships, thus not qualifying for Rio in the 100 metres.  He made sure that on Sunday, in Montpellier at the swimming championships that he would qualify in the 50 metres, and indeed he did, smashing the rest of the pack in the final.

With a time of 21 sec 42/100e, the best world performance of the year, he successfully qualified for his place at the Olympics in Rio de janerio later this year.  Frederick Bousquet, who finished 2nd, does not meet the criteria set by the national technical direction with a time of 22 sec 09 / 100e.
