Departmental Elections - UMP and FN Tied 1
Leader of UMP
Nicolas Sarkozy – Leader l’UMP
Leader of the FN
Marine Le Pen – Leader of the FN

According to a new Ifop poll published today in the publication, Le Journal du Dimanche, the Front National (FN) and the L’Union pour un mouvement populaire (UMP), are both tied in first place for the upcoming departmental elections on the 22th and 29th of March.

According to the poll. both the FN and UMP both have 29% of the vote ahead of the Le Parti socialiste (PS) who are currently on 23%. The candidates of Europe Ecologie Les Verts come fourth with 10% and the Left Front gets 9%.

This could bring some very interesting changes to the political landscape when the votes are added up, and a lot will depend upon how well they all do in the first round of voting and then which way the losing candidates tell their supporters to vote in the second round of votes.
