Meteo France placed the Normandy region on orange alert for strong winds, snow and ice this Thursday 12th January. The first flakes should fall between 10pm and 10am on Friday 13th January. Meteo France predicts between 2 and 5 cm of snow on the hills, a mixture of rain and snow elsewhere.
Snow is expected to appear from 22 pm this Thursday, January 12, 2017, in Normandy. According to Meteo France , the heights should be the most affected: between 2 and 5 centimeters of snow in the night. The region is located in orange vigilance winds, snow and ice.
“The snow should be present in the Bocage, in Suisse Normande, in the south of Pays d’Auge, but also in the South Manche, and around the Orne” says Nicolas Buffard, France forecaster Weather Carpiquet, near Caen (Calvados).
Light rain and snow
Moreover, the roads could whiten as Meteo France provides “showers of rain and sleet or ice pellets”.
A new wave of less snow is expected in the night from Friday 13 to Saturday, January 14, 2017.“The heights are always the most vulnerable, with 3 centimetres expected.”
