For 15 years at Saint-Aignan-sur-Roe, Rémi and Josiane Certenais sell for three weekends during the period of Advent, decorations, garlands and stuffed reindeer.
From the entrance gate of the JC Deco in Saint-Aignan-sur-Roe (South Mayenne), one is in the theme of Christmas. There is a magic tree where one can “file a letter to be sent directly to Santa Claus”. A row of small wooden chalets where elves and reindeer post their biggest smile. And even two large snowmen who guard the building entrance.
Wholesaler of fake flowers and Christmas decorations to retailers and garden centres, we often had excess stock over” recalls Josiane Certenais, so we decided to set them up in the warehouse where we store the fake flowers. The children joked that “if we put the winter in the warehouse where we store the flowers, we could do an open house ?” They launced their joke, to present Christmas items in 100 m2 space. ” We got hooked, ” smiled Rémi Certenais.
The family began to buy pieces to complement and Josiane Certenais begins to arrange tables to show what we can do with decoration. Today, in a space of 600 m2, they have 900 products in a small maze where everything is stored by color or theme. There garlands, cribs, teddy bears singing Jingle Bells and even trains. “We light up all that is electrical,” supported Rémi Certenais when opening the first weekend on 19th and 20th November. Prices range from € 0.50 for the small Christmas ball up to “€ 240 for the bright shaft of 2.50 m. ”
How long does it take to install all of this? “We stop the fake flowers just before Halloween. And, two days later, we begin to prepare for Christmas, ” they explain.
They are open on Sunday 27th November, Saturday 3rd December and Sunday 4th December, from 10 am to 7 pm at JC Deco, 4, rue Madame de Senonnes in Saint-Aignan-sur-Roe.
