Latest updates on the positions in the Vendée Globe

Tuesday morning at 9 am, Armel Le Cléac’h (Banque Populaire) strengthened his first place, and is still the leader, about 20 miles ahead of Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss). Beyou (4th) still leads Paul Meilhat.

Armel Le Cléac’h ( Banque Populaire ), the Vendee Globe leader, kept his head that night if he loses ground on Alex Thomson ( Hugo Boss ) between last night and this morning. Pointing at 9 am on Tuesday, the Breton skipper had a lead of 20 miles over the Welshman. The Cléac’h advance at an average speed of 18 knots, while his rival, Alex Thomson, displays more than 19 knots over the last four hours.

For its part, Sébastien Josse ( Edmond de Rothschild ) regained some ground. It is only the third but at 470 miles from the head. It is sandwiched between two groups: the first two and the two closest pursuers. Beyou ( Maître Coq ) managed to pass Paul Meilhat ( SMA ) this weekend, thus taking over the fourth place he occupies with 3000 ahead of Meilhat.

Yann Elies (Queguiner-Leukemia Hope) retains its sixth place, ahead of Jean-Pierre Dick ( St-Michel Virbac), Thomas Ruyant  and Jean Le Cam.
