A Scare on Saturday for a couple in their seventies. As they flew over the Breton coast aboard a small plane, their aircraft lost its propeller in midair, reported Ouest-France. The pilot finally managed to ask urgently for permission to make an emergency landing on the moor on the island of Houat (Morbihan). If the plane was seriously damaged by the improvised runway, the two occupants were not injured.

At 1,200 metres, the propeller detaches

According to France 3, the couple left Les Sables d’Olonne on a small two-seater light aircraft, flying to the Quiberon peninsula. They eventually fail a few kilometers from its final destination. They were flying at about 4,000 feet (1,200 metres) when the propeller detached itself from the plane, for reasons still unknown.
