The ship built by STX to the Swiss-Italian shipowner MSC will be set afloat in style tonight at Saint-Nazaire …
MSC Meraviglia comes at a crucial stage of building a ship: its setting afloat. She is scheduled between Friday and Saturday. In detail, the floodgates will open at 6pm on Friday, after four hours of visits and ceremony for the guests of the company. Water will fill the building and pool the next morning between 6 am and 6.30am, the ship will emerge from its current form to join the estuary, where work will then continue on its interior.
The ship of 315 meters long is thus making its first-movement into the estuary at daybreak. A spectacle reserved for early risers!
