Dalia, aged 6 weeks, her brother Nael, 18 months, and her sister Eline, 2 and a half years old, were kidnapped in Epinay-sur-Seine (Seine-saint-denis) by their parents. French authorities triggered the kidnapping alert this Saturday shortly before 6 a.m., worried about the state of health of the six-week premature baby, who needs regular care. The latter was found alive in a hospital in Lille the same day, announced the Bobigny prosecutor, specifying that the search is continuing to find his brother and sister.

Two family members were taken into police custody on Saturday morning on suspicion of helping the parents in their escape.

The suspects sought are the parents, “Abdelkader Benabderrahmane, 24 years old, 1.70 m, thin, brown hair and eyes, possible scratch on the face” and “Chaima Hattab, 20 years old, measuring between 1.62 and 1.65 m, thin, brown hair and eyes. They are likely to try to leave the national territory”, specifies the website of the ministry, which published their photo as well as those of the children.

They had to be placed after a report

The three minors were targeted by an order on Wednesday temporary placement in Child Welfare (ASE), following a hospital report reporting “precarious accommodation, drug consumption by parents and neglect of the essential needs of children”, indicated the Bobigny prosecutor, Eric Mathais.

The baby suffers from heart disease requiring surgical intervention but above all regular care while waiting. Hospital doctors monitoring the infant indicated that, without appropriate care, “his condition could become problematic within 48 hours”, specified the prosecutor.

The parents opposed the educators who came to enforce the placement order for their elders, Nael and Eline, and fled with the three children on February 19, 2026. The territorial security (DTSP) of Seine-Saint-Denis, then the departmental judicial police service of Seine-Saint-Denis were seized of an investigation for kidnapping of minors under the age of 15 by an organized gang, specified the prosecutor.

The numerous investigations carried out to locate this family remained in vain at this stage.
