Listeria: These Brownies Sold in all Supermarkets Should Not be Eaten

A product recall has been issued for Gerblé brand sugar-free chocolate brownies are potentially contaminated and must be returned to the store

A product recall has been issued this Thursday about cakes sold in the “dietary” sections of supermarkets. Sugar-free brownies from the Gerblé brand are in fact potentially contaminated with listeria monocytogenes, responsible for listeriosis. The product has been marketed in recent months in most major retail brands: Auchan, Crossroads, Monoprix, System U, E. Leclerc and Intermarché. Online platforms have also offered it, such as d’Amazon, Private sales and Schiever.

Sugar-free chocolate brownies come in packs of six individual servings. The lot in question is the following: 51922650. It has a use-by date set for 24th April  2026.

Symptoms to watch out for

“People who have consumed the product and who have a fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and aches, are invited to consult their doctor and inform them of this consumption “, indicates the Rappel Conso website. And to specify that “listeriosis is a disease which can be serious and whose incubation period can be up to eight weeks”.

If you purchased one of the sachets affected by the recall, it is recommended not to consume it. You have until the 3rd February to return it to the store and obtain a refund.
