3 rd July – Day at the Resevoir
As the weather has been so good, we decided to go to the resevoir at La Meilleraye de Bretagne on Sunday, as it is only about 15 minutes drive away from where we live. There is plenty of parking within walking distance of the man made beach and is surrounded by a large forest, which means on the hot days like we had this weekend you can cool down with a walk in forest. There is also a Cafe selling snacks, cold drinks and ice creams.
There is a section marked out for supervised swimming with a lifeguard keeping watch and indications of when it starts to go deeper. There is also pedalos to hire if you wish.
We often nip down here as although I prefer going to the coast, it is a good compromise as it is only down the road and makes a fantastic day out.
