Cycling. Froome, Pinot, Sagan, three rebounds expected in 2021

Christopher Froome who is starting a new adventure within Israel Start-Up nation, Thibaut Pinot who will change his mind about the Giro, Peter Sagan who will want to find his green tunic from the Tour de France… These three riders will be looking for better results than those obtained in 2020.
Riders accustomed to shining had a 2020 season below their expectations. This is the case of Thibaut Pinot, who was once again not spared from an injury. The Groupama-FDJ climber will take his mind off things at the Tour of Italy. The recipe has already worked for Thibaut Pinot, whose 2020 season took a negative turn from the first stage of the Tour de France. Hit in the back during a fall in Nice, he was unable to play the leading roles that his 2 seemed to promise hime place du Critérium du Dauphiné. On the contrary, these three weeks looked like a hassle that the Franc-Comtois would have done without, who sees the Giro as his main objective for 2021 (4th in 2017).
Froome, the English patient
Officially, he did not give up his arms. Is it to justify his lucrative contract within Israel Start-Up nation that Christopher Froome wants to be so proactive? Not selected by Ineos on the Tour last year because he had insufficiently recovered from his serious injuries suffered in 2019, the Briton still announces that he wants to aim for a fifth success on the Tour de France. Illusory at 35, facing the wind of youth blowing through world cycling?
Peter Sagan at the restart
Regularly above ten victories per season, Peter Sagan has shown a downward trend for three years. The three-time world champion (2015 to 2017) only raised his arms once in 2020 (for the 114th victory of his career), on the Tour of Italy, returning empty-handed from the Tour de France (neither stage nor green jersey). An 8th place will constitute his summer objective while he now appears, at 31 years old and after ten years of career, a tone below van Aert and van der Poel on the classics.
