The couple of Germans missing since the floods on the night of the 3rd to 4th October was found safe, said the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture.
The German couple had rented an apartment in Cannes, but never went there, said the prefecture, which means that they were never missing in the first place.
20 dead
The highest price was paid by the town of Mandelieu-la-Napoule, where relief services found the bodies of eight people in underground car parks of several nearby residences. The victims had gone to retrieve their vehicle. Among them were a Portuguese aged 47, an Italian aged 57 years and three French women and three men aged 67-77 years.
The balance of the deadly flood stands at the moment with twenty dead, sixteen French and four foreigners.
The weather will cost between 550 million and 650 million euros for insurers, according to an estimate published by the French Insurance Association (AFA).
The inter-ministerial order declaring a state of natural disaster in 32 municipalities affected by deadly floods over the tragic weekend was published Thursday in the Official Journal
