The Chamber of Commerce has just released the findings of a survey of 700 business leaders, representative of the economy of the Loire-Atlantique department.
In this survey conducted between June 29 and July 15, 2015, it shows that 37% of managers surveyed find “an improvement in the economic situation”, which is 15 points more than in January. “However, remember that the survey at the beginning of the year showed a particularly poor situation “, however reminds the Loire-Atlantique (44) Chamber of Commerce.
Most of the indicators used in the survey are improving, with the exception of investments and margins, “evidence that the upturn remains fragile,” said the Chamber of Commerce.
Most sectors in the department are benefiting from this recovery, particularly in business services, with 78% of respondents who consider the orientation of the last month or equivalent rise. The climate is favourable to industry, food processing, transportation equipment manufacturing, retail and wholesale trade and personal services.
However, the situation remains “worrying” for the construction sector. “The feeling of anxiety dominates and high expectations are expressed as regards the launch of major metropolitan projects (airport, train station …)”.
The report concludes that the main challenges facing business leaders within the Loire-Atlantique, are namely the lack of visibility, low margins and declining sales.
