American singer Aretha Franklin, successful performer like “Respect” and “I Say a Little Prayer”, is in a serious condition, said Monday a journalist and friend of the family of “Queen of Soul”.
The 76-year-old singer is “seriously ill in Detroit (northern United States). Her family asks the public to pray and respect her privacy, “wrote journalist Roger Friedman on his website Showbiz 411.
Aretha Franklin, diagnosed with cancer in 2010, last sang in November 2017 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Her last concert was held in Philadelphia (East Coast) in August 2017. “It was a miraculous show as Aretha was already fighting exhaustion and dehydration,” says Roger Friedman on his website.
During her long career, the singer won 18 Grammy Awards, the American equivalent of the French Victoires de la Musique.
Some of her most well known hits include ” (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, “Day Dreaming”, “Jump to It”, “Freeway of Love” and “A Rose Is Still A Rose”.
