A fire broke out Sunday 24th June, 2018 in the cellar of a building in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray (Seine-Maritime) near to Rouen. Eleven people were evacuated to hospitals.
The fire took place, Sunday 24th June, 2018 around 7.35pm, in the cellar of a five-storey building, rue Louis-Jouvet, in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray (Seine-Maritime) near Rouen.
17 people rescued
During the fire, about ten people were blocked and evacuated using the large ladders of firefighters. Once the building emptied, firefighters made a check on the 17 inhabitants that they rescued.
Among them, eleven people (six adults and five children) who were suffering from inhalation of smoke by the fumes and were transported to hospitals in the region. No casualties were reported.
The circumstances of the fire remain to be determined.
