The rivers La Dives and La Vie in Normandy have been placed on orange alert for risk of floods. Tuesday 12th June, 2018, overflows have already been noted in the Pays d’Auge.
Tuesday, June 12, 2018, the inhabitants of Vimoutiers (Orne) woke up with their feet in the water . Due to heavy rainfall , the La Vie River was in flood . A hundred inhabitants and a dozen businesses were affected by floods.

Until Wednesday afternoon
La Vie, but also La Dives, were placed in orange vigilance for risk of floods, at least until Wednesday 13th June, 2018 in the middle of the afternoon, indicates the prefecture:
“The maximum of the flood is expected between 9.30pm and midnight in Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives. Preventive surveillance is being implemented in this sector and that of Mézidon-Vallée d’Auge. Concerning the sector of Livarot, touched in the afternoon, the recession is initiated on la Vie.”
“The security and rescue services with communities are mobilized to ensure the safety of people, confirms the prefecture of Calvados. Thirty interventions by the departmental fire and rescue service were already carried out in the sector at 3 pm “.
Behavioral tips for floods
• remain alert near a watercourse or a normally floodable area;
• respect road signs;
• Do not venture on foot or by vehicle on a road, even if slightly flooded, to avoid
any risk of falling into a ditch or manhole;
