Due to heavy snowfall expected in Île-de-France and neighbouring departments, the Sanef group encourages drivers to anticipate their return home.
The northern motorway Society and the East of France (Sanef) is urging motorists not to travel on its network on Tuesday 6th February due to snowfall. It is forecast that 20 cm could fall in the afternoon in the departments of Ile de France and in the south of the Oise.
“For everyone’s safety and prevent blockages on the roads, drivers are asked to go home early afternoon before the intensity of snowfall redoubles. Avoid travel in Île-de-France in the neighboring departments from this afternoon through to 1pm on Wednesday”.
In its statement, the Sanef has indicated precise areas to avoid:
- The A1 and A16
- L’Oise and south of the Somme
- The A14 in the Hauts-de-Seine
- The A13 to the gates of Rouen,
- The A4 from Paris to the gates of Lorraine,
- The A26 between Saint Quentin and Troyes
Trucks stranded
To avoid blocking the areas affected by the disruption, heavyweights storages are being organized by the State services. They will be set up from 5pm by the forces of order of teams helped Sanef and AWS.
Areas planned will be located in the Hauts-de-France regions: North A1: Toll Fresnes, south A1: Chantilly toll and at the Parc Asterix. A2 north: toll Hordain. A16: toll Amblainville. Greater East: A4 toll Coutevroult Montreuil Lions and Dormans. West of Paris and Normandy: A13: toll of Buchelay and Heudebouville.
