After Ana and Bruno in December, Carmen on Year’s Day, Eleanor arrives this Wednesday 3rd January, 2018, in the morning, with winds exceeding 130 km/h. Maritime overflows will occur on the exposed coast.
Eleanor called by the British meteorological services and by the name of David in France, this is the second storm that will sweep the department of Manche in the first three days of the year 2018.
From midnight the winds will have strengthened to achieve the first 100 km/h on the coast as early as 3 am. The climax takes place early in the morning, around 6 am, with gusts up to or exceed the 130 km/ h.
Strong tidal coefficients
The combination of high tides and the winds may cause coastal flooding on the exposed parts of the coast. The coefficients are of the order of 106 on Wednesday morning and time of high tide is at 8 am.
